We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Engineer to join a growing industrial processing operation in Warren, NSW. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, this role will see you become a key member of the site leadership team while driving maintenance reliability, continuous improvement and operational performance.
This is more than a traditional maintenance role. As the site's second-in-charge (2IC), you will provide technical expertise, support day-to-day operations and play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient running of the plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs.
- Perform mechanical maintenance on plant equipment including pumps, conveyors, valves and rotating equipment.
- Diagnose faults and coordinate repairs to minimise downtime.
- Support planned shutdowns and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Provide operational support to production teams.
- Act as shift leader when required.
- Support OH&S systems, risk management and compliance activities.
- Maintain maintenance records, work orders and spare parts inventory.
- Identify and implement reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support plant upgrades, modifications and commissioning projects.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Experience within an industrial, manufacturing, processing or heavy industry environment.
- Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding capability.
- Experience working with preventative maintenance systems.
- Fabrication and workshop experience.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- The ability to lead by example and support operational teams.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Electrical troubleshooting experience will be highly regarded.
