Site Supervisor – Reedy Creek Waste & Recycling Centre

Our client is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to oversee daily operations at the Reedy Creek Waste & Recycling Centre. This ongoing position is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, a safety-first mindset, and a background in waste management or heavy industrial environments. You will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant processing of waste streams while leading a diverse on-site team.

- Hours: 06:30am start | 10-hour shifts
- Pay Range:$90,000 – $95,000

Role Duties
- Oversee day-to-day site operations and safe vehicle/waste flow
- Coordinate plant operators, weighbridge staff, spotters, and labourers
- Ensure waste is sorted, processed, and transported correctly
- Manage site traffic, enforce WHS standards, and lead safety briefings
- Identify hazards, manage risks, and maintain environmental compliance
- Respond to incidents and emergencies per Veolia procedures
- Supervise all site staff and contractors, manage rosters and task allocation
- Train new staff and maintain a positive, productive team environment
- Complete reporting, documentation, and compliance records
Required Experience & Attributes
- Supervisory or team leader experience in waste, recycling, landfill, transfer stations, or heavy industry
- Hands-on background in waste sorting or recycling facilities (MRFs)
- Experience with plant operations (loaders, excavators, telehandlers, compactors)
- Strong understanding of waste handling and contamination control
- Experience managing rosters, staff coordination, and daily operations
- Background in safety-critical, public-access environments preferred
- Knowledge of waste classifications and environmental compliance (advantageous)
- Experience delivering pre-starts, toolbox talks, and incident reporting
- Confident with admin, reporting and compliance documentation
