Trade Assistant - Container Repairer - Needed NOW!

Are you a motivated and reliable Trades Assistant with experience in welding and/or container repairs? Do you have your forklift, working at heights, and confined space tickets? If so, we want to hear from you!

About the Role:

Our client is a large, well-established shipping container business located in Spring Farm, NSW. They specialise in the sale and customisation of shipping containers and are known for providing high-quality service to their customers. You'll be joining a small, close-knit team with a direct and friendly supervisor. This is an immediate, ongoing opportunity with a genuine path to a permanent position.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a hardworking Trades Assistant to join our client's team in Spring Farm, NSW. The role operates Monday to Friday from 5am to 1.45pm , and you will be responsible for the repair, preparation, and modification of shipping containers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Welding repairs on hinges, doors, and joins.

• Welding custom-made tanks and containers.

• Lubricate all hinges and doors.

• Inspect for corrosion and prepare and paint affected areas.

• Maintain door seals to ensure they are wind and watertight.

• Inspect and repair any damage to the container's under-structure, particularly the fork pocket area.

• Inspect and repair the roof, paying attention to paint and structural integrity.

Essential Requirements & Skills:

• Second-class welding experience is essential.

• Current Forklift (LF) licence .

• Current Working at Heights ticket.

• Current Confined Spaces ticket.

• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.

• Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks.

• Own reliable transport.

Please be aware that random drug and alcohol testing is a part of this role with a zero-tolerance policy. If you are made permanent, a drug and alcohol test and a medical will be required.
